The Valentino brand was born in 1957, the year in which Valentino Garavani opens a fashion house in Rome, in Via Condotti with other partners but the high management costs and the taste for luxury of the designer led them to retire until the entry into the company of Giancarlo Giammetti, with whom Valentino restarted the house, dealing only with the creative aspect of the brand name. In 1962 in Florence, the first fashion show at Palazzo Pitti which attracted the attention of the media and the Vogue magazine. Garavani's clientele included notable personalities such as Farah Diba and J Kennedy Onassis Acqueline. From 1978 he launched the pret-a-porter line. In 1998 Garavani and Giammetti sold the company to the HDP group , controlled by Gianni Agnelli which in 2002 sold Valentino S.p.A. to the Marzotto Group which, in 2005, separates the activities by sectors and those of the clothing, constitute the Valentino Fashion Group. In 2012 the fashion house was sold, together with the Missoni brand, to the Mayhoola for Investments company. The creative director of the brand is Pierpaolo Piccioli. The maison has always stood out for its highly tailored and classy style, offering lines of perfumes and accessories. Note the exclusive evening dresses, with precious carvings, embroidery and jewel details. The symbol of the brand is the Rosso Valentino, synonymous with class.
